The children really enjoyed making St. Brigid’s crosses. The older children helped the younger one.

The crosses were then blesses by Fr. Tony at the Grandparents mass.

As part of our Green Schools Programme, we had a “Spring Walk” on Wednesday, March 8^th.

We walked to school in a colourful “Spring” procession.

Science Week

To celebrate sciencs week in our school, we organised science workshops for all classes (Infants – Sixth).  These were conducted by Sarah, a scientist, from the Rediscovery Centre in Dublin.  There were slideshow presentations about Science and its importance in our lives.  Afterwards the children participated in a variety of science experiments.  An enjoyable, interesting and very informative day was had by all the children.

Trick or Treat for Temple Street

For our annual Trick or Treat for Temple Street Hospital the children dressed in a Halloween outfit and  brought donations for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.  Sincere thanks to Dominique who has created a “spooky witches cottage” for us in school, to mark this event.    

As part of the  green flag for travel the children are asked to Park and Stride  i.e. walk part of the journey to school, where it is safe to do so. Here are some pictures of the children dressed for Halloween and walking to school.

1st, 2nd & 3rd class go to visit Junior & Senior Infants once a week and read with them.

This paired reading in very enjoyable for all involved.

Sometimes the Infants do the reading as well.

Pilot Visit

Recently the children in Mrs. Farrell’s room have been learning about the work of a pilot.  Following from this, one of our past pupils, Paul Deegan, who is now a pilot with Aer Lingus spoke to all the children about his training and work. We sincerely thank Paul for coming to visit us and wish him well in the future.
