The children from 1st – 4th classes have been involved in G.A.A. blitzes recently in A.I.T. and in Kilbeggan.

Sincere thanks to Declan who came to school following his wonderful performances in Rio. Declan told the children all about his experiences in the Para Olympic games and also presented us with a signed jersey. We are very grateful to him and wish him continued success in his cycling career.

We were delighted to welcome the Senior Team players, with the Peter Geraghty Cup, to our school last week. This is a fantastic achievement for the club and we wish them every success at Senior level. We were also delighted to welcome the U16 team with their trainers Des Collins and Declan Keane, who won the U16 final recently and also the U14 team who won the U14 final against Tyrellspass. The U12 team won the U12 Garrycastle Tournament. Congratulations to all players and dedicated trainers.

We were very fortunate to have Paddy Madden, an expert in Nature and the Environment and a Lecturer in Marino Institute of Education, visit our school this month. Paddy brought an abundance of flora and fauna to show the children and spoke to them about Living Things. The Senior children also went on a Nature Trail around the school with Paddy, who helped them identify many aspects of nature in our school environment. It was a very interesting and informative day.
